The April, 1993 issues of both Gamepro and Video Games & Computer Entertainment reported that Hudson Soft had acquired the game publishing rights for Universal Pictures' An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (along with Beauty & the Beast and television show Inspector Gadget). According to the VG&CE report, "all three licenses will be used to create nonviolent games for the NES and SNES." While it's true that all three titles were published by Hudson for the SNES, the only NES game among the three that we have evidence of is Beauty & the Beast (which is certainly not a "nonviolent" game). Whether work was ever done on NES versions of either Inspector Gadget or Fievel Goes West is unknown. | ||||||||
